What is Fragile X Syndrome?
Fragile X Syndrome (FXS) is a genetic condition causing intellectual disability, behavioral and learning challenges, and various physical characteristics. It results from a mutation in the FMR1 gene on the X chromosome, leading to a deficiency of the Fragile X Mesenger Ribonucleoprotein (FMRP).
